**Job Description Summary

The Senior Engineer role will provide focus, depth of understanding, and establishment of strategy in developing team resource demands and schedules for executing PDE/DE activities for programs in current and future Product Asset Lifecycle Management (PALM) systems. The team member in this role will work to establish consistent GT PDE standard work practice for task activities, scheduling, and related metrics across combustion, compressor, and turbine module.

This position will also encompass leadership within the turbine module PDE team to establish and maintain continuity and expertise, related to additive modular nozzle design support for the design engineering teams. More generically this role will require interaction across GT PDE, specifically within the turbine module team, as a “go to” resource on PDE modeling, quality, and fulfilment processes.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Establish a holistic approach across GT PDE in the up- front definition of scheduling needs for NPI activities and assist the teams in the establishment of expected duration baselines to fulfill product definition requirements with schedule tasks in combustion, compressor, and turbine modules.
  • Work within the team to make recommendations for program task structure, need dates, and duration in relation to complexity, design engineering milestones, and program requirements.
  • Establish consistent guidelines for daily task management within the teams and reinforce individual contributor process steps across GT PDE on large development or smaller scale NPI programs and production related component revisions.
  • Interface with GT PDE metrics and GT DE metrics to provide monthly representation and consistent understanding to leadership teams.
  • Pioneer methods for using P6, Smart Sheet, TAROT, and GTCC/PALM scheduling, reporting and task definition for the GT PDE team.
  • Support GT -PDE S2 resource planning through liaison across the DE, systems, and leadership teams. Update S2 planning tools (Smartsheet) with GT PDE resource estimates.
  • Apply creative clear thinking in exploring alternate resource solutions, and in shifting component definition schedules within the Turbine PDE team to meet program requirements.
  • Utilize expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others (lead/ mentor), demonstrate the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals, impact the quality of their own work and the work of others on the team.
  • Lead advances in Turbine Module product definition standard work initiatives. Categories include standard practices, PMI, drawing templates, part families, drawing automation, checking automation, reusable parametric models, model meshing etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or a STEM Major with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Gas Power Engineering and the design of mechanical components.
  • Experience related to the transactional and strategic use of GE Vernova resource demand tools (TAROT), current and future product asset lifecycle management (PALM) systems, and various task scheduling environments.
  • Demonstrated NX (CAD) design proficiency in the definition of additive (metal printing) and traditionally manufactured (casting) hot gas path components and the ability to manage and document part life cycles across Product Asset Lifecycle Management systems.

Desired Characteristics

  • Ability to formulate business strategies…awareness, connectivity and influencing skills to allow implementation of SQDC and product definition best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and program budget management understanding.
  • Demonstrated horizontal partnering relationship building skills across the global PDE team and with design engineering and manufacturing.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organization skills
  • Experience leading /mentoring resources on multiple NPI programs in parallel.
  • Able to interface effectively at all levels of the organization and with customers.
  • Proven ability to achieve business targets.
