Database Manager

ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa - we are a global BPO company, partnering with a US-based client, and seeking a highly skilled Database Manager (Azure, SQL, APIs, MongoDB, Automation) who can lead their end-to-end database solutions.

This role involves managing all aspects of the clients database infrastructure, from creating databases to automating data processes using APIs, performing complex calculations, and storing data in SQL servers.

Proficiency in SQL Server, MongoDB, JavaScript, and Python is essential, as the role will be responsible for delivering a fully optimized database environment tailored for efficient data analysis.

NOTE: Working Hours: This role requires you to work US based hours (EST) (15h00 - 24h00 SAST) Mon - Fri.

Requirements

KEY REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Extensive Azure and SQL database management (end-to-end)
• Proficiency in JavaScript for automating database operations, API integrations, and front-end interactions.
• Experienced in Building APIs and integrating multiple APIs into data systems for seamless functionality and data flow
• Ability to connect and retrieve data from MongoDB (management of MongoDB is not required).
• Proficient in Python for data analysis tasks using libraries such as Pandas.
• Strong proficiency in SQL language with hands-on experience in a SQL Server environment
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex database environments.

Responsibilities:

• Database Management: Design, develop, and maintain databases for optimal performance, scalability, and security. Automate data extraction via APIs, troubleshoot, and support real-time reporting.
• Automation & API Integration: Implement automated data extraction and API integrations, ensuring seamless data flow and proficiency with diverse software ecosystems.
• Azure Cloud Management: Oversee Azure-based databases, handling setup, optimization, and troubleshooting, while ensuring security and performance.
• Data Delivery & Access: Collaborate with analysts to ensure easy access to databases, maintaining integrity for accurate reporting.
• Programming Expertise: Use JavaScript for API management and Python (Pandas) for data analysis and transformation.
• MongoDB Integration: Retrieve and integrate data from MongoDB into SQL and other systems.
• Cloud Security & Data Integrity: Implement security policies for cloud databases, conducting audits, backups, and reviews to protect sensitive data.
• Collaboration & Support: Support data teams, maintain best practices, and provide clear documentation for database processes.
