The Centre for Information Resilience (CIR) is an independent, non-profit social enterprise dedicated to exposing human rights abuses and war crimes, countering disinformation and combating online behaviour harmful to women and minorities. We achieve these goals through open-source research, digital investigations, building the capacity of local partners, and collaborating with media to amplify the impact of our work.

About the role
As People Partner at CIR, you will play a vital role in supporting project leaders and teams, ensuring they have the right people, the right skills, and tools and guidance to succeed. You’ll work closely with leadership and projects to foster an engaging and productive work environment where employees thrive. Our work is fascinating, challenging and complex, and we have an incredibly talented and dedicated team. Managing workloads and prioritising wellbeing are essential. As we define our ways of working, you’ll play an important role in championing these changes across CIR. The role offers the chance to shape CIR’s people strategy and we’re just getting started.

Main responsibilities:

Team Structure and skills planning:

  • Meet with project directors to understand project requirements in terms of skills and roles, ensuring they are meaningful and aligned with project goals.
  • Track skills available within current project teams, identifying gaps and areas for development.
  • Collaborate with project leaders to structure teams, considering project goals, team capabilities, and workload, and map talent to roles. Where gaps exist, identify recruitment needs.

Career Development & Workload Management

  • Track and understand individual career aspirations and help project leaders incorporate these into their team planning and development processes.
  • Monitor employees’ workloads and capacity, working with project directors and managers to ensure a balanced distribution of work.
  • Maximise staff utilisation across individual projects, ensuring optimal alignment with project goals and financial sustainability.

Employee Engagement and development

  • Conduct regular employee engagement surveys, analyse results, and create action plans to improve satisfaction and productivity.
  • Support career development discussions with employees, helping them identify their aspirations and explore growth opportunities within CIR.

Utilisation and financial health

  • Help project leaders maximise team utilisation across projects to ensure financial sustainability and project success.
  • Work closely with leadership to balance employee capacity, skills and aspirations with project needs, ensuring optimal performance and financial health.
  • Collaborate with finance to manage HR budgets, including salaries and benefits.

Employee Relations and wellbeing

  • Act as a trusted partner to leaders and team members addressing employee issues, resolving conflicts and offering coaching where needed.
  • Work with project leaders to manage team members’ workload and ensure a healthy balance.
  • Identify wellbeing initiatives that can be adapted to different cultures within the organisation to support mental health and work-life balance.

Continuous improvement

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of people processes and policies, making suggestions aimed at enhancing efficiency and the overall employee experience.
  • Use data to inform decisions related to talent management, employee engagement, and project outcomes.
  • Collaborate on strategies to ensure internal policies reflect CIR’s mission and values including DEI initiatives

  • Experience in Fast-Paced Environments:
    You have a proven track record of partnering with leaders in fast-paced, project-driven settings where priorities shift and innovation is essential.

Working Arrangements

The role will be full-time and can either be office based, hybrid or remote, with the opportunity to work from CIR’s offices in London, if desired (subject to the applicant having the right to work in the UK).

CIR encourages flexible working and is happy to agree a working pattern to suit the successful applicant. We generally expect staff to be available between the core hours of 10.00 -12.00 GMT and 14.00-15.30 GMT each working day unless an exception has been agreed.
