Senior Wintel Infrastructure Reliability Engineer

As a Senior Wintel Infrastructure Reliability Engineer, you will be part of the cloud server engineering team. You will be working with some of the latest infrastructure technologies and methodologies to design, implement, migrate, and maintain the cloud server infrastructure as well as being involved in our key project work.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Responsible for coordinating, testing, deploying, and validating security patches.
• Support the operation and maintenance of the virtual infrastructure including, but not limited to VM, PaaS and AKS infrastructure.
• Provide logging reports for performance, troubleshooting and capacity planning.
• Provide technical support for incidents and problem resolution from an infrastructure service perspective.
• Create, maintain, and review operational and technical documentation.
• Plan and perform change activities following ML in-house change management policy and procedures.
• Perform technology upgrades, migrate and applying patches or firmware updates to the virtual infrastructure software or hardware.
• Support the design and configuration of complex system landscapes.
• Provide guidance to less experienced personnel.
• Provide on-call support by responding to calls both during and after business hours/weekends/holidays/shutdowns.
• Participate in DR drills.
• Demonstrate a high level of technical expertise and service orientation.
• Ability to follow up on project processes, be results-oriented and self-motivated.
• A tertiary education in, and/or in-depth hands-on working experience within the technology infrastructure mentioned above.

Preferred Qualifications:

What we’re looking for:

• 8+ years of overall infrastructure experience and current expertise with windows server management in an Azure cloud infrastructure production environment.
• Alert and problem management experience with recent exposure to service management, incident management and problem management functional teams.
• Azure infrastructure management experience with a focus on both VM and PaaS environments
• Expertise in infra services, security concepts and best practices; virtualization, storage, and database technologies.
• Windows server administration and related services (Active Directory, DNS, RDS, DHCP, etc.)
• Server builds, server configuration, server deployments plus patching and hardening.
• Perform server security hardening plus managing and supporting on-going patch management processes.
• Knowledge of software deployment technologies, configuration management and patch management procedures.
• Experience with compliance and audit activities for enforcement of policies, standards, and procedures
• Familiarity with scripting and programming (batch, PowerShell, shell script and VB)
• Experience with IT transformation, data center consolidations and migrations.
• Understanding of and experience with ITIL processes.
• Strong adherence to change management process.
• A solid understanding of risk, security, and compliance requirements and best practices.
• Good understanding of networking infrastructure and network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, DHCP, Load balancing, Replication, SSH).
• Able to support enterprise infrastructure and assist in the day-to-day operation of the team.
• Strong and reliable team player with the ability to manage change and work independently.
• Solid understanding of project scheduling and task driven project work

• Ability to self-manage work time engagements and prioritize multiple tasks and problems.
• Windows and Cloud certifications
• An in-depth understanding of PaaS architecture

• Strong communication and technical skills, prior experience with mentoring teams and working in a process driven environment.
