What you will do:

• Perform engineering calculations, analysis, research and design related to automated facilities and electrical systems
• Perform routine assignments crafted to develop your professional engineering work knowledge, gain familiarity with techniques, approaches, practices and the nature of engineering systems, equipment, etc.
• Develop the ability to apply fundamental engineering principles and techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out sequence of related engineering tasks.
• Exercise judgement on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

Who you are :

You have:

• 0-2 years of engineering experience along with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical or computer Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
• Basic knowledge of engineering concepts, fundamentals and theory along with effective decision making skills

You can:

• Solve problems, work within a team environment and develop project management skills while balancing multiple tasks
• Learn to apply engineering theories and concepts to complex problems while using your analytical and abstract thinking skills

You are:

• An excellent written and verbal communicator with strong technical writing abilities
• Able to interpret codes, regulations and practices along with the ability to develop effective planning, project and organizational skills
• Proficient with computers and various software programs

The following are considered assets:

• Holds or is able to obtain a Professional Engineering license during the course of employment

Working Conditions:

• Work performed in typical office environment 25% of the time with the other 75% being exposed to Dust/Grease/Oil, Energized Wires, Cold/Heat, Loud Noise. Operating machinery up to 25% and Travel up to 25% as well

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
