As a Field Service Engineer, you will be a key player in delivering exceptional service and support for innovative chromatography and mass spectrometry equipment systems. Job responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, repair, preventative maintenance, qualification, and validation of chromatography and mass spectrometry equipment systems at various customer labs across the region.
  • Provide phone, augmented reality, and live support to resolve customer service requests.
  • Maintain schedule, track service calls, manage personal parts inventories, and build accurate service reports.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose customer LCMS issues using instrument performance reports, field representative documents, and diagnostic reports.
  • Perform repair, replacement, or other corrective actions.
  • Coordinate problem resolution with factory engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
  • Report technical problems and trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance processes, and recommend modifications to eliminate future problems.
  • Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service.
  • Regularly attend factory-provided technical and service training on the latest chromatography and mass spectrometry products.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of quality training, service reports, expense reports, company car maintenance, mileage reporting, and other administrative tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job requirements

Education

  • Minimum educational requirement: BS and/or graduate degree in Sciences, Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 3 years hands-on experience operating analytical equipment, i.e., chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • Experience with method development and analytical chemistry is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel 10-20% overnight domestically.
  • Ability to work overtime, outside regular business hours, and/or on-call.
  • Frequently handle and transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally participate in team lifts of 100+ pounds.
