DISHER is currently partnering with a growing, global organization at the forefront of industrial automation across diverse industries on their need for a Vice President of Mechanical Engineering. In this role, you will drive engineering excellence, manage team performance, and lead innovation in automation solutions across various industries.

What you will get to do:

  • Drive engineering excellence and performance management for mechanical engineering groups
  • Lead talent development through coaching, mentoring, and performance management
  • Establish and enforce standardized processes and best practices to enhance team efficiency
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support sales, project management, and executive leadership
  • Lead research into emerging technologies and drive innovation in mechanical engineering
  • Manage resource allocation, capacity planning, and meet chargeability targets
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with outsourced resources
  • Participate in critical project milestone reviews using Stage-Gate Methodology
  • Develop reporting tools for team resourcing and project execution performance
  • Assist in creating unique mechanical solutions to enhance offerings and drive sales

What will make you successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 10 years of engineering leadership experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design and build of automated systems
  • Passion for motivating and developing team members while promoting company values
  • Ability to explain detailed engineering concepts to a wide audience
  • Proficiency in calculations required for proper equipment design, actuator sizing, and component sizing
  • Expert knowledge of MS Excel, Mathcad, FEA, and other calculation software
  • Advanced proficiency with CAD software, especially SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Experience with cycle time analysis, process breakdowns, and developing critical requirements
  • Knowledge of major components used in automated assembly and test equipment
  • Familiarity with equipment design standards (ANSI, OSHA, NFPA, ASME, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership of solutions
  • Must have the current and continuing right to work in the United States of America without restrictions or expirations.
