About this role

Gartner seeks a Security Engineer to join our top-tier Enterprise Security Team. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a robust security posture across Gartner's diverse technology landscape. Your expertise in security best practices, data protection, vulnerability management, and endpoint security will be essential in protecting Gartner's assets and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information.

This role is a 2-11 PM shift.

What you will do

• Own day-to-day life cycle management, including identification and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
• Work with key stakeholders to identify, respond to, and remediate information security issues.
• Drive complex vulnerability remediation events to completion.
• Continuously improve our ability to identify, assess, prioritize and mitigate information security risks throughout the organization and come up with recommendations on how to integrate controls as part of standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate the orchestration, automation, and management of security technologies and platforms.
• Perform proactive technical research to detect emerging risks and threat trends.
• Serve as a subject-matter-expert for threat and vulnerability management; act as a first point of contact for critical issues, security risk assessments, third-party audits, and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate business and technical requirements to identify and implement tools, processes, and technologies to improve our security posture in our environments.
• Ensure the continuous improvement of existing compliance processes.

Must have

• At least 2 years of experience in Security Domain.
• Experience using vulnerability scanning technologies and cloud security tooling.
• Experience as a security engineer working on IT security projects in a dynamic environment.
• Understanding of security principles, common attack vectors, and mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with technical and business stakeholders.
• A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with common vulnerability management tools (i.e. Tenable, Rapid7, Qualys)
• Penetration testing and web application testing experience
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and Cloud Security Posture Management tooling.
• Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security) are a plus
• Strong scripting/development skills in languages like Python, PowerShell, etc.

Who you are

• Education qualification as graduate or postgraduate degree in Engineering is required
• Commensurate experience in Information Security will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proven communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to build trusting, meaningful relationships with peers, stakeholders, partners and suppliers.
• Ability to define and communicate risk in a business-relevant language to both non-technical and technical audiences.
• Ability to apply expert knowledge to solve complex business/technical issues.
• Desire for life-long learning and continuous personal/professional development.
