Within Retail Technology you’ll be joining our Quality Engineering Centre of Excellence team, where you’ll be a technical leader driving quality through platforms that allow our engineers to deliver faster with high quality. You will use your automation skills to codify more into our build and release pipelines, while also deepening the tools for infrastructure and environments management.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll work collaboratively with customer facing product engineers to design, build and run automated solutions that help with their day-to-day work. You will help to make our platforms loved by our engineers! We are keen hear from platform engineers who are passionate about infrastructure as code and software eating the world!

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

• Are adept senior technical experts in delivering solutions through automation and self-service
• Bring their wealth of experience working on direct-to-customer solutions that have a large eclectic customer base – ideally with a mobile-first approach
• Enjoy partnering with small agile squads to guide, influence and help them move better code faster
• Ideally come from a full cycle engineering environment with a true passion for automating work to be done throughout the software lifecycle
• Have a natural drive to educate, communicate and positively influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Tech Skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

• An understanding of full cycle engineering (design, build, run and manage)
• 5+ years’ experience CI/CD tools (we use TeamCity and are moving to GitHub Actions)
• Experience with writing automation scripts, using languages such as Python, PowerShell or Go, to implement controls and tasks for building and releasing software continuously
• Exposure to test automation frameworks and building release pipelines around a continuous testing mindset
• Hands on experience with cloud platforms (we use both Azure and AWS)
• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
