What you'll do

The Hue bridge is the heart of the Philips Hue ecosystem. It connects the mobile apps to our lights, it controls all the automations within your setup, and it connects to the cloud for things like out of home control and voice control. We ensure that the bridge stays up to date, secure and is able to handle all the new features and capabilities we build with regular software updates.

With this assignment, you will work along with the IoT team within the Business Line Hue Connected in Eindhoven to improve the software update performance in the ZigBee network. We would like to optimize bandwidth usage in ZigBee to improve overall SW update and create a better user experience.

Your qualifications

• You are finalizing a Bachelors in the field of Computer Science / Software Engineering
• Available for minimally 6-8 months (> 32 hrs/week) and able to start your internship in February-March 2025.
• Proactive and enthusiastic to communicate with senior stakeholders.
• A self-starter who has an affinity with software technology.
• You are proud of what you do, have a deep passion to do things right, and are ready to learn on the job.
• You have experience with Linux.
• You have knowledge of Zigbee networking.
• You have experience with C, C++, Rust, Python, Bash; some knowledge of C# is considered a great bonus.
• You understand the agile development process, and you know how to use Git-based tools.
