Graphic Designer, Icebreaker

What will you do?

A day in the life of a Graphic Designer at icebreaker and Smartwool looks a little like this.

Reporting to the North American Associate Creative Director, the Graphic Designer will play a critical role in supporting the Creative Team in the development of campaign visuals and graphics that inspire our audience while creating a consistent brand representation across physical and digital channels. You are passionate about design and strive to provide pixel perfect user experience. You have a strong visual eye, are process-friendly and enjoys working within tight timelines on multiple projects simultaneously.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Design impactful and effective creative
  • Design eye catching deliverables to support marketing campaigns and initiatives, ranging from point of sale, trade ads, display signage, digital signage, retail merchandising, catalogs, and packaging.
  • Work with the creative and brand marketing team on photoshoots and content creation projects.
  • Collaborate with channel leads to develop A/B testing creative and implement findings in future iterations.
  • Design motion graphics such as gifs and small videos for email, onsite and advertising needs.
  • Ensure the quality and visual consistency of all material shared by internal and external partners.
  • Work and direct freelance talent to ensure all materials meet brand guideline requirements during term of assignment.
  • Plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to marketing and communication challenges, finding the most effective way to get messages across in all brand touchpoints (digital, consumer and trade facing).
  • Contribute to the copywriting process for creative impact.
  • Photography retouching

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 4+ years of experience and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in design.
  • Detailed oriented, adaptable and open to creative feedback.
  • Experience designing as demonstrated by a strong portfolio that showcases previous email and print design work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and working knowledge of Figma.
  • Time management and prioritization skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Creative management from briefing through to creative reviews and handoff of assets.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
  • Continuously learning mindset by staying up-to-date with the latest design trends, technologies and sustainability communication.
  • Proactive attitude in creating creative solutions

There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.

  • 1+ years of agency experience
  • Experience with apparel brands or in the outdoor industry
  • Experience with video editing or animation

Hiring Range:

$56,160.00 USD - $70,200.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
