Senior Software Engineer

Job Description:

Cable One, Inc. dba Sparklight seeks Senior Software Engineer for its Phoenix, AZ office.
Develop software solutions requested by and in participation with Cable One Residential and Business Services divisions. Create core provisioning systems enabling customers to receive Cable One products and services. Develop customer diagnostic tools aiding call center and field technicians in service troubleshooting. Manage and resolve issues in Cable One’s in house software applications, databases, APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), infrastructure, and networks. Review and utilize business requirements to establish technical solution designs and documentation for applications. Participate in bi-weekly code review/design sessions with software development team to outline deliverables and tasks needed to accomplish business objectives. Prepare design and transition documents in support of QA (Quality Assurance) and software testing and support needs. Provide documentation and training to software support team and entry-level to mid-level engineers for solution deployments into production environments. Identify process and application improvements to automate manual tasks to alleviate customer pain points. Travel approx. 5% of the time to unanticipated client sites and the company’s other offices in the U.S. for meetings and training. Requires Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related. Must have 12 months of experience in an occupation related to Software Development. Experience must include 12 months in/with the following: Java, J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) Web Applications and Services and compatible frameworks; Data Modeling and Database Programming; Agile Methodology; Unit Testing and Automated Testing; Software Design Patterns and Implementation; and Client Server Applications and N-tier architectures.
