The Lead Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing the product strategy for a specific product or product line. This includes defining the product vision, setting the product roadmap, managing the product development process, and working with stakeholders to ensure that the product meets the needs of customers and the business. The Lead Product Manager will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching other product managers on the team.

What does a day in the life of a Lead Product Manager look like?

  • Develop and execute the product strategy for a specific product or product line
  • Define the product vision and set the product roadmap
  • Manage the product development process
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure that the product meets the needs of customers and the business
  • Mentor and coach other product managers on the team
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis of potential products
  • Track and measure product adoption and performance
  • Identify and evaluate new features and opportunities
  • Support the sales team in providing product related solutioning Work with engineering, design, and marketing teams to bring new features to market
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Meet or exceed performance targets for related KPIs
  • Continuously improve knowledge of products, services, and processes by participating in training programs and continuous learning modules
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed
  • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers and colleagues at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What are the required qualifications of a Lead Product Manager?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Product Management
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience
  • Ability to lead and support a team
  • Strong understanding of product development processes
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with vendors and partners
  • Proficient in using computers and various software applications

Nice-to-have qualifications:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C#

  • Experience with AI and automation tools and platforms (e.g., Robotic Process Automation - RPA, Low-code/No-Code platforms, Bard, GPT)
