- Lead the materials planning team to provide on-time materials to support operations
- Schedule material orders with suppliers, continually reviewing the min/max/re-order/Economic order quantities for cost effective, on time delivery of materials to operations
- Work directly with the supply-chain (internal and external), scheduling orders to meet inventory requirements and operations demand
- Work with the stores to optimize quantities of materials on site to support peaks of operations demand, support inventory checks
- Work closely with the purchasing team and provide supplier feedback, the relationship with the purchasing leadership and team is critical
- Work closely with Production Planning to ensure alignment between the Operations plan and the materials plan
- Identify cost reduction opportunities, such as consolidating supply chains, supplier price reductions, different order quantities for price breaks – requires a proactive mindset to secure “best value”
- Ensure materials are available to meet operations demand, proactively expedite any supply issues to ensure operations does not have stoppages.
- Develop the materials planning team team, developing the team in line with the company values
- Identify and lead new technology such as achieving a ‘paperless process’
- Pro-active, improvement mindset – active involvement in Continuous Improvement
- Prepare for, and support meetings to discuss materials planning, proactively identifying solutions
- Develop mid-long term improvement plans and then implement to create ‘world-class’ materials planning function
- Ad-hoc duties and projects as and when required
Requirements
- 3-5 years experience leading a materials team
- 5-7 years total materials planning / purchasing experience, high energy, can-do approach
- Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
- Strong focus on continuous improvement of the function and team
- Solution and service minded, pro-active, improvement mindset
- Computer proficiency with strong excel skills
- Experience working in a procedure environment like aerospace would be a strong advantage
- Good command of Thai and English (speaking, reading and writing)
- Accountable for team performance
- Lead performance evaluation, recruit team members, and prepare HR information as/when required as directed by the Business Support Manager
