About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of our cloud-based databases on various platforms, including Snowflake, Redshift, AWS, GCP, and Azure. You will work closely with developers, analysts, and other IT professionals to ensure the smooth operation and performance of our database infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Provision, configure, and manage cloud database instances on various platforms, including Snowflake, Redshift, AWS (RDS, Aurora), GCP (Cloud SQL), and Azure (SQL Database, Cosmos DB).
  • Implement and maintain data security best practices, including access control, encryption, and auditing.
  • Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for optimization, including query tuning, schema normalization, and indexing strategies.
  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data availability and integrity.
  • Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Collaborate with developers and analysts to understand their database needs and provide technical guidance and support.
  • Stay up to date on the latest cloud database technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Cloud DBA or in a related role.
  • Strong understanding of cloud database concepts and principles.
  • Proven experience with at least three of the following cloud platforms: Snowflake, Redshift, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database administration tools.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) is a plus.
  • Ability to manage and diagnose Data & ETL – Dagster, Airflow, other ETL technologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A continuous learning mindset and a desire to stay up to date with the latest cloud database technologies.
