Summary:

We are seeking an HR Business Partner based in Tokyo, Japan who is high energy, self-motivated and hands-on to effectively support and scale our rapidly growing company. As a member of our high-performing HR team, you will serve a client base including Commercial Sales, Marketing, Customer Advocacy, Technical Support, Finance and Information Technology towers. In this role, you will manage a variety of HR projects and provide ongoing support and HR expertise to our Japan based employees. This role will be part of a Regional HRBP team that provides HR Solutions to the APAC region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and counsel to leaders for all HR processes and procedures including: performance management, talent management, compensation planning, talent development and career development
  • Collect/analyze human resources data and make recommendations to promote continual improvement
  • Handle complex employee relations matters, in addition to acting as a coach/consultant to employees, supervisors, and managers
  • Enhance the HR departments’ reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to objectives and output.
  • Complete projects and special assignments determining priorities, effective time management, gaining the cooperation of others, monitoring progress, problem-solving, and making appropriate adjustment to project plans.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • Possess working experience in Workday implementation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese. Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Able to work without direction. Proactive and results-driven.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in HR supporting large MNCs is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Workday is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in cross geographical teams is preferred

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in addition to minimum 8 years of HR experience, or a master's degree in HR management and 5 years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.

Travel Required:

  • 0 – 24%

Language Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in Japanese and English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
