Fuse is on a mission to accelerate the world’s transition to fusion energy. Our core product is TITAN: an Impedance Matched Marx Generator (IMG). TITAN is the most efficient and powerful (TW) machine of its kind. Fusers have built and licensed Magical Unicorn and FAETON I, 2 novel pulsed power generators.

You are joining an early-stage fusion company. Please expect to wear different hats and take 0 to 1 ownership of objectives. Changing the world is hard but honorable and fulfilling. You should expect to work extremely hard to make a dent. This is not a regular job. Fusers are on a mission to change the world and get shit done.

This position requires determining the effects of radiation environments on various components and systems. Radiation test data will be collected and used to verify component behavior in a variety of radiation environments. Tasks include capturing, analyzing, and interpreting test data and resolving technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and execute radiation tests on electrical components and systems;
  • Design and develop component test hardware/software for various radiation environments;
  • Develop radiation characterization and radiation lot acceptance test plans;
  • Analyze and interpret radiation test data;
  • Develop and execute detailed test schedules;
  • Prepare and present radiation test reports;
  • Prepare and present radiation results and achieve customer demands.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/ Master's degree in a relevant field, such as nuclear engineering, physics, or a related discipline;
  • 5+ years’ experience in radiation detection and measurement techniques, such as time-of-flight measurements, particularly in the context of fusion research;
  • 2+ years’ experience with software and data analysis tools used in radiation detection and measurement;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
  • Willingness and ability to travel bi-costal.

Desirable skills

  • Experience working in radiation environments, radiation facilities, and dosimetry systems including prompt dose, total dose, neutron, proton and heavy ion.

Additional requirements

  • Must be able to travel and work extended hours/weekends as needed.
