We are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and lead engineering support of our advanced drive unit currently used in the world's leading electric motorsport racing championship.

Our team leads the programs to integrate Lucid products and technology within external applications, such as Motorsport and OEM applications. Additionally, this team is responsible for supporting business development activities by providing technical analysis, strategy and evaluation of opportunities. The candidate must be an experienced engineering professional with a strong understanding of electric powertrains, including inverters, motors, and gearboxes, as well as their integration into motorsport, or similar, applications. A successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams at Lucid to support our powertrain technology for motorsport and other applications.

The Role:

  • Lead engineering support of drive unit repairs, maintenance & servicing.

  • Maintain & review assembly, servicing and testing production instructions and records.

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action of failures or performance issues.

  • Monitor usage and prevent issues by proactively reviewing race data and reports.

  • Manage the drive unit bill of materials (BOM) and full definition in CAD.

  • Support new development and validation activities, including detailed technical planning and execution.

  • Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience

  • Minimum 2 years of electric drive unit experience

  • Design release engineering experience – including engineering change and project management.

  • Specialized, low volume assembly and production experience.

  • Expert 3D CAD and GD&T skills using CATIA V6 or equivalent.

  • Hands-on, practical experience with tools and equipment for prototyping and building systems.

  • Excellent organization, documentation, and communication skills.

  • Expertise using structured root cause and corrective action processes

Education:

  • BS degree in EE, ME, CS, Math, Physics

Preferred:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a high-pace highly complex cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent organization and delegation skills with the ability to own the technical aspects of the program and deliver results on time.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend complex problems and effectively facilitate the team to make decisions and coordinate the action plan.
  • Solid skills in evaluation and criticism of engineering decisions and changes
