About the startup & role

I am an EIR at Menlo Ventures who is currently laying the groundwork for a completely new take on the nutrition tracking space. This space has been stale for a long time and AI unlocks an opportunity to completely change the experience. I am looking for a 0 to 1 design partner who will craft the core AI experience behind this exciting new product.

A few important notes about the company

• This platform is not just about nutrition tracking but about discovery, "fun" is a missing term in this space, and we want to bring it back

• We're going to make good use of wearable health data to tie your nutrition to outcomes. This is not being done at this stage beyond basic calorie in-out calculations

• We're mission-driven and focused on ways to bring the cost for the user to as low as possible, ideally free

• We're investigating ways this platform can be used to reduce food waste at a societal level

What we're looking for

• Deep consumer experience, has designed B2C apps that scaled
• Thought deeply about AI and AI-first experiences, ideally mocked up or shipped product in this space
• Deep understanding of the importance of motivation through gamification and injecting elements of “fun” into the experience
• 0 to 1 designer that loves the speed and independence that comes with small agile teams

Your responsibilities

• Full ownership over the design of the product from A to Z, close collaboration with a design engineer that’s going to make your designs come to life
• Close collaboration with CEO and ML Engineer on leveraging AI to the max in the development of this product
• Close collaboration with a branding agency (or full ownership of branding as well) to develop all front facing elements of the platform
