The team regularly reviews the usage of capacity to identify any issues and to enhance the availability and efficiency of systems. We are an inclusive and collaborative team that values individuals with strong aptitude and attitude and offers opportunities for professional growth. Our work environment is professional, open, and relaxed, with competitive compensation and generous benefits.

Role:

As a Sr Capacity Engineer, your role will entail collaborating with a technically diverse team of engineers to deploy, maintain, and manage the capacity resources of the ServiceNow platform and infrastructure globally. This will require a strong attention to detail, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. By continually monitoring and optimizing the capacity resources, you will contribute to the overall success of the ServiceNow platform.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Deployment of new capacity and managing a worldwide fleet of racks and servers.
  • Manage and resolve challenging capacity issues/cases with and for ServiceNow partners.
  • Ensure that all capacity, reliability, and availability needs can be met, on schedule.
  • Collaborate with multiple different technical teams, including IA DevOps SRE and HSS support teams, to resolve issues and create new efficiencies.
  • Create and/or refine existing processes and procedures to improve efficiencies within the environment.
  • Drive a culture of intolerance to manual activity which results in a highly automated environment delivering scalable solutions.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Deep knowledge of CentOS/Red Hat Linux.
  • Substantial coding experience in various languages, we normally prefer Python or Javascript.
  • Networking skills, IP addressing, and routing.
  • MySQL/Postgres database administration.
  • Monitoring of large and scalable systems, applications, and networks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot multiple complex technical issues.
  • Commitment to quality of work and attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of different storage protocols like NFS, iSCSI, and NVMe/NVMeOF.
  • Working knowledge of networking/server architecture and hardware.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong documentation skills with particular emphasis on technical processes and standards.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and modify existing processes and procedures as needed.
