Senior HSE Adviser

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior HSE Adviser to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. Working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Reporting to the Head of People, Safety and Culture, your role is to promote a positive safety culture and ensure high standards of health, safety and environmental in all business dealings. You will regularly review and implement the workplace health, safety and environment practices for compliance with legislation, standards and continuous improvement for sustainability.

Some of your responsibilities are:

• Compiling detailed risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and implements measures to mitigate and control risks related to health, safety, environment.
• Developing, implementing, communicating and managing strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to relevant standards, regulatory compliance, and best practices. Develops corrective action plans when necessary.
• Delivering and implementing relevant training programs that foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance across the business.
• Overseeing incident investigations, analysing root causes, and develops strategies to prevent recurrence. Ensures timely and accurate reporting of incidents to relevant stakeholders.
• Providing guidance to the HSE coordinator on daily HSE related activities.

Your qualifications and experience

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.

• A Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator and mental health first aid qualifications (or willingness to obtain).

• In depth knowledge of safety and environment legislation.

• 7+ years’ experience within a similar industry (manufacturing or engineering, etc).

• You are organised and detail oriented, have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop effective HSE strategies
