Designer

Ware Malcomb has an exciting opportunity for a Designer to join our Interior Architecture & Design team in Oak Brook, IL! This person could also be located in our Downtown Chicago office.

Designers are responsible for assisting the Project Manager by leading the consultants and internal resources, maintaining project drawings, and processing documentation during construction. You will support and assist in the development of space planning, concepts, creation of program documents, finish plans, specifications, and material selections.

This is great entry level or junior Designer position, providing an opportunity to gain exposure to various stages of a project whilst working under the guidance of an experienced Project Manager or Interior Designer.

Designer Responsibilities:

• Provide AutoCAD and Revit support for the preparation of project documents.
• Assist the Project Designer with project coordination as it relates to design concepts for construction services.
• Support and assist in the development of space planning concepts and creation of program documents
• Coordinate finish plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction with project team.
• Partner with Intermediate and Senior Designers in meetings with consultants, furniture dealers, product reps, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives
• Provide assistance for submittals for jurisdiction agencies.
• Assist with the preparation of Field Verifications, BOMA calculations, as well as general AutoCAD support as each project requires.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, consultants, and Ware Malcomb employees.

Designer Requirements:

• Preferred minimum of 1 years experience in the field of Interior Design. Will also consider recent graduates with strong design and Revit skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field
• Revit skills
• Adobe Suite and Sketch-up skills
