The Role

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking an application developer having an expertise in backend development, deployment and and maintenance of web application projects, with a computer science background to join the CORE studio Application Development team, a dedicated software development team within CORE focused on building custom applications for TT and our clients. You’ll be a key part of the team supporting the numerous project leaders and working closely with development teams within CORE studio. The goal of the position will be to develop, deploy and maintain computational engineering and design tools that provide value to TT’s practices and technical staff. You’ll need to be highly motivated and have demonstrated professional experience in developing novel computational solutions to engineering and/or design problems. You will work in a highly creative and collaborative environment as you support, build, and maintain applications for the broader staff.

Requirements:

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

•Must have 2+ years of experience working on application development and devops engineering.

•Hands-on programming experience in one or more languages - NodeJS or similar.

•Hand-on experience with scripting languages - Unix shell, Python scripting or similar.

•Experience in deployment, configuring, and troubleshooting software applications, systems, and client software on Linux and Windows Servers.

•Experience in at least one cloud service - AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.

•Strong in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for any code or platform issues.

•In addition to technical responsibilities, the candidate shall be self-motivated, have excellent interpersonal communication and must be an exceptional team player.

Additional Skills:

•Experience or knowledge in identifying security vulnerabilities and implementing security measures against it.

•Familiarity with micro service architectures.

•Familiar with Architectural Engineering and Construction industry domain projects.
