We are looking for a Software Intern for a period of 6 months who would contribute to the research and development of machine learning (ML) algorithms to analyze multi-plex immunofluorescence (mIF) images with a focus on image compression impact for image analysis.
The internship will take place partly remotely and partly on site.
Your Missions
Reporting to Application Development Scientist, you will contribute to:
- Preparing and cleaning existing image datasets.
- Researching state-of-the-art approaches for cell detection in mIF images.
- Selecting and training deep-learning models to analyze mIF images.
- Study the effects of different image compression methods on the image analysis results.
Requirements
- Ongoing Bachelor or Master in Bioinformatics, Bioengineering or similar field.
- Good understanding of digital image acquisition principles.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience with image processing libraries (OpenCV, Scikit-Image, SciPy, PIllow).
- Experience with the Keras, TensorFlow and/or PyThorch libraries.,
- Hands-on experience with a modern fluorescence microscopy is a plus.
- Research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to present results to various audiences.
- Fluent in English.
