Software Test Engineer

Job Summary and Responsibilities:

In the role of Software Test Engineer, you will lead and execute testing initiatives, develop and maintain test strategies, and collaborate with various teams to ensure the delivery of top-notch software. Utilizing your expertise in testing methodologies and automation, you'll drive excellence in our testing procedures.

Primary Duties:Test Planning and Strategy:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies and plans in coordination with stakeholders.
• Define test objectives, criteria, and priorities aligned with software requirements and business objectives.
• Ensure timely execution of test activities.

Testing:

• Perform hands-on testing, encompassing both manual and automated methods, to validate software functionality, performance, and security.
• Conduct thorough regression, exploratory, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Create precise and thorough test cases and scripts.

Test Automation:

• Build and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks, including scripting within code to validate functions.
• Advocate for best practices in test automation and contribute to its expansion.
• Continuously enhance test automation infrastructure for improved efficiency and scalability.

Defect Management:

• Monitor defects and collaborate with engineers to address them promptly.
• Communicate defect status and testing progress to stakeholders.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and enhance product quality.
• Keep senior management informed about testing status, findings, and recommendations.

Test Documentation:

• Develop and update test documentation, such as test plans, cases, and reports, ensuring accessibility and accuracy for the team.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience as a Software Test Engineer, with a focus on automation.
• Strong grasp of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages like Typescript, Svelte, and Golang.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Playwright, Testify, and Selenium.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• High proficiency in English.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• ISTQB or similar certification is advantageous.
