Our Founders

Our Founders (Richard Chapple and Sarah Jasper-Baker) first joined forces at The Hut Group (THG), where Richard’s eCommerce strategies and Sarah’s acute commercial sense helped grow from £10m when they arrived in 2009 to £400m (profitably) by 2015.

Richard is a commercial marketer with 20 years’ experience in DTC eCommerce. He’s an expert at unlocking huge growth for start-ups, scale-ups and established businesses. As Head of Marketing at PLAY.com, CMO at Gymshark and CEO at THG Ingenuity, he helped grow all three into unicorn companies.

Sarah is a commercial strategist, highly-skilled at helping businesses grow their bottom line. Over a 20 year career, she’s created tens of millions in revenue through end-to-end demand, loyalty, and commercial partnerships. She’s the former Commercial Marketing Director of THG and MD of THG Ingenuity.

About the Role of a Talent Manager

You’ll be getting stuck into building amazing brands and growing our clients to the next level by becoming an integral part of their People function. Often you will assume a client email alias and for the duration of the engagement you will be working as though you are part of the client team, helping them attract identify and engage then retain the very best talent in the market place.

Your role will include placing across all of the following disciplines: Product, Brand, Marketing, eCommerce Trading, Operations, Data & Insight, Tech, Finance, People and C-Suite.

You will also always be on the 'hunt' for new clients for us to partner with.

In addition to the above you will refine and grow our own team helping with our internal hires here at The Growth Foundation. We have a growing headcount of industry superstars who in turn will work hand in hand with our clients.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing the best talent for our clients in the eCommerce, D2C and Retail sector
  • Proactively hunt for new business and develop our existing clients.
  • Headhunt the best in class in LinkedIn
  • Conducting candidate screening over the phone or on Zoom
  • Arrange interviews, including setting up calendar invites and sending across details
  • Working with clients and founders to fulfil their recruitment requirements.
  • Building relationships with potential candidates; explain the company culture and role duties etc.
  • Manage your roles on our ATS Team Tailor
  • Work in partnership with the rest of the Recruitment team and the wider Growth Foundation consultancy

About You:

  • 1+ years in an agency recruitment role ideally in eCommerce related field but not essential
  • You’re a resourcing force to be reckoned with a passion to find the talent nobody else can.
  • Ability to open doors and find new brands to work with.
  • Negotiation and influencing others comes natural to you
  • Are entrepreneurial, creative, innovative with the ability to see the bigger picture
  • Are able to self-manage and organise, given competing deadlines and priorities
  • Will be determined to go the extra mile to achieve results
  • Confident, assertive, and proactive, with the ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with people at all levels
  • Have exceptional attention to detail
  • Have experience in managing senior stakeholders and applying a commercial mindset
  • Are results driven
