About the role: We offer an exciting opportunity for a Commodity Analyst to join our team and delve into the world of Iron Ore, Coal, and Agricultural commodities. Understand, monitor, track, and analyze trends in the Dry Bulk market. Ensure that DBX input sources & final deliverable quality set new standards in the Market. Discover new insights hidden within the data and create reports that simplify and communicate the underlying key messages to internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing

• Daily validations of the input data & delivered outcome. Ensure high reliability and data quality across all DBX products and commodities. Liaise with the product team to perform any necessary operation actions
• Get informed on a daily basis about the latest evolutions of the relevant commodity market, identify patterns, detect new trends, evaluate and propose internally required activities
• Analyse, prepare & validate the required data and insights for recurring customer-facing commodity reports
• Strive to improve the DBX Product and quality through fundamentals analysis, new data sources identification, etc
• Collaborate closely with the Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to propose improvements, demonstrate trends & patterns, and support clients’ ad-hoc data needs

Requirements

What we would love to see

• 2-3 years of experience working with large, disparate, unstructured data sets using Excel/Google Sheets, SQL, or Python
• Experience with any of Grains/Oilseeds, Coal, Iron Ore, Shipping/Trading operations will be highly advantageous
• Strong capabilities in logical thinking, reasoning, and attention to details
• Strong analytical skills and capability to work with datasets, identifying trends, and supporting decisions with data
• Effective team player with great communication skills, working within short deadlines across multiple tasks with minimal supervision
• Excitement about working in a start-up environment: not afraid of challenges, excited to bring new ideas to production, and a positive can-do will-do person, not afraid to push the boundaries of your job role
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Master’s or Bachelor’s university degree in Economics, Finance, International Trade, or Applied Science related fields
