Data Developer

We’re looking for a talented Data Developer to expand our strong, and slowly-growing data team. As the data team, it is our responsibility to organize and store data within our data warehouse environment and present this information to key stakeholders in the form of reports and graphical dashboards. This new individual would help with the day-to-day management of data organization within the data warehouse, as well as take a hands-on approach to administrate present and future dashboarding tools for the team. The right candidate will possess an attitude that owns his or her problem domain, embraces difficulties as new challenges to overcome, and has a positive attitude towards embracing the new.

Responsibilities

• Data warehouse reporting and database schema maintenance.
• Tableau technology suite management, ownership and administration.
• Design and development of data-driven dashboards for reporting purposes.
• Coordinating with team members to migrate and manage data quality within multiple environments.
• Collaborating in scoping exercises within the operating team, and external team.

Experience and Education Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• 2+ years with knowledge of RDBMS (eg: MySQL, MariaDB) and columnar technologies (eg: ClickHouse, Redshift, Snowflake).

• 2+ years of experience with SQL scripting abilities, schema management capabilities, and ETL data concepts.

• 2+ years experience in Tableau-related technologies, primarily on Tableau Server. Any experience with Tableau Cloud, Tableau Desktop, Tableau Bridge, Prep Conductor is considered an asset.

• 1+ years of experience with BI reporting tools and dashboard design and building (eg: Tableau Desktop, Qlik Sense, PowerBI).

• Experience with version control tools (GIT).

• Strong understanding of basic Linux commands and server administration.

Skill Requirements

• Programming language experience with at least one of the following languages (Python, Java, GO, C#, C)
• Experience with maintaining and administration of AWS EC2-based machines.
• Experience with carrying out and coordinating service uplifts for key stakeholders with minimum disruption.
• Experience with working on Cloud technologies, not limited to the AWS cloud technology suite.
• Experience with moving data across streaming platforms (eg: Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
