Project Manager

This role is a key role within IT and Change to help the delivery of key projects which support the strategic outcomes for the Commercial & Industrial and Generation Business.

You will manage change projects that impacts multiple business areas across
multiple years. These projects will improve operational effectiveness and supports
strategic objectives of the company.

How will I spend my time in this role?

  • Provide leadership and direction throughout the project lifecycle from planning through to operational handover and business acceptance to ensure the project is delivered to time, cost, and quality;
  • Creation and management of Project Deliverable Artefacts and put measures in place to manage quality and track against progress;
  • Management of obtaining required commercial approvals from senior Stakeholders to allow the project to continue progressing as planned;
  • Management of project resources and ensuring resource demand is planned in
    conjunction with PMO;
  • Build relationships engaging with stakeholders across different functions to
    facilitate change and effectively manage stakeholder relationships;
  • Develop and control project finances;
  • Proactively identify, manage, report, and mitigate project risks, issues, and
    dependencies;
  • Provide regular comprehensive Project Reporting to stakeholders about project
    status, risks, mitigations, dependencies, and progress;
  • Takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful
    completion of complex projects;
  • Adopts and adapts project management methods and tools. Ensures that
    effective project monitoring and control processes, change control, risk
    management and quality processes are employed and maintained;
  • Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital expenditures against the
    project budget;
  • Manages the expectations of key project stakeholders;
  • Management of 3rd party vendors who are engaged as part of the Project;
  • Supporting project managers by coaching and mentoring;
  • Development of project management best practice within Smartest Energy;
  • Takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful
    completion of complex projects;
  • Adopts and adapts project management methods and tools. Ensures that
    effective project monitoring and control processes, change control, risk
    management and quality processes are employed and maintained;
  • Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital expenditures against the
    project budget;
  • Manages the expectations of key project stakeholders.

What skills/experience do I need to be successful?

  • Proven track record in successfully delivering IT change of complex and/or largescale projects impacting multiple business areas across FY’s;
  • Experience working with IT vendors, building successful partnerships, and assuring IT change;
  • Demonstrable experience of stakeholder engagement across all levels within IT
    and the business;
  • Proven experience in assessing the feasibility of projects and executing the planning and approval process of large-scale projects;
  • Proficient use of Microsoft tools.

Hybrid working typically means 2 days in the office location listed on this advert and 3 days working at home each week. Some occasional travel to our other offices may be required.
