Job Summary: The Business Intelligence Quality Assurance Specialist is a thorough, curious investigator who collaborates with Business Intelligence Developers to ensure high quality, user friendly BI solutions. The BI QA Specialist is empowered to drive the best outcome in BI solutions across a variety of technologies and is engaged with our customers to ensure successful adoption.
The BI QA Specialist will work with BI solutions touching many functional areas and departments and will build broad knowledge of how Benco works and how data fits together. This highly collaborative role must be able to effectively communicate issues and look for opportunities to optimize and improve processes. The BI QA Specialist will work directly with end users after items are deployed to maximize engagement.
Qualifications:
Education: Candidate must possess at least Bachelorβs/College Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Experience:
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or newer familiarity preferred
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services 2014 preferred
- Experience with Qlik Sense preferred
- Experience with Infor M3 or other ERP systems preferred
Skills Needed:
- Experience with full software development life cycle, project documentation, and Agile methodologies preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure all Business Intelligence development conforms to contracted requirements
Effectively develop and execute test plans and test cases/scenarios appropriate for the work being tested
Effectively test queries and SQL code with some developer support
Effectively test static reporting and dynamic dashboarding
Identify, document, and communicate edge cases, problems, and oddities found during testing
Ensure all developer and analyst output conforms to standards and best practices
Monitor and troubleshoot overnight automated processing
Act as a liaison with end users after deployment, ensuring adoption of new BI work and customer satisfaction
