About the RISE Group

In 2012, a team of software developers found themselves jumping through hoops, past cracks, and over spikes just to set up a connection for their office in Cebu, Philippines. What’s more: almost every other business they knew had the same experience.

By 2015, the cause for better connectivity found itself an advocate: RISE was established to drive solutions for faster internet service. We are on a mission to help create a landscape for accelerated growth in the local internet service industry.

The Head of Implementation exists to run the Implementation Team and ensure that all projects are running smoothly and on time.

The Head of Implementation is responsible for the technical leads which include the Implementation Lead and Service technicians. They keep reporting staff in check vis-a-vis the duties and responsibilities assigned to them, act as a liaison between the Operations Team and the Executive Management, ensure that processes are efficient, and give suggestions when they are not.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the team delivers quality installations through training and development, equipment procurement, and clearing project roadblocks.
  • Accountable for the team's adherence to standards and processes, including documentation, quality and project control, safety protocols, and operational activities.
  • Act as a point of escalation for issues on the field and within the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with teams like PMO, Design, Network Operations, and Procurement to ensure successful delivery of field engineering services, especially in new areas.
  • Coordinate with PMO for rosters, implementation requirements, and ensuring operational readiness and optimal resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and improve maintenance and fault-related activities within service areas.
  • Responsible for incident and risk management of engineering teams, reviewing and monitoring quality performance and reporting on quality assurance.
  • Manage Right of Way (ROW) function and act as a point of escalation for critical interferences or conflicts that may arise.
  • Collaborate with Site Acquisition and Project Management teams for ROW planning and ensure all permitting and requirements are accounted for.
  • Analyse workload, contractual commitments, and customer specifications to ensure operations teams have the necessary resources and equipment.
  • Optimize warehouse and logistics functions through research and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supplier and Contractor Management:
  • Support commercial performance by managing external suppliers and contractors.
  • Assist in negotiations, compliance management, and cost-effective solutions with service providers.
  • Ensure the efficient management of inventory, logistics, and related operational activities to support field engineering and other departments.
  • Provide a work environment and resources that allow individuals and workgroups to perform tasks efficiently.
  • Ensure the implementation team has the necessary equipment and resources for quality installations and project execution.
  • Set strategy for quality and performance measurement in line with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the monitoring of quality and acceptance metrics, ensuring all key issues are addressed across all sites.
  • Develop and lead comprehensive stakeholder management strategies and plans.
  • Build and maintain long-term, strategic relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact and facilitating engagement.
  • Manage senior individuals and groups, delegate management responsibilities, set performance objectives, and monitor progress.
  • Provide coaching, support, and mentorship to senior individuals, leading formal processes like compensation negotiations and disciplinary procedures.
  • Develop organizational policies, standards, and guidelines for requirements definition and management.
  • Drive adoption and adherence to these policies, developing new methods and capabilities for requirements management.
  • Lead the implementation of formal organizational processes such as recruitment, reward, promotion, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Participate in human capital management, including recruitment, workforce planning, training and development, and initial disciplinary measures.
