ROLE SUMMARY

Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S), integrates and oversee Pfizer’s global infrastructure, information technology operations, risk management, data privacy, and cybersecurity capabilities Our business application platforms support Pfizer’s enterprise application and critical business processes. A robust infrastructure allows business traffic to travel where it needs to go, internally and externally, along with the appropriate access controls. EP&S secures Pfizer's most important information assets through world class controls and protections and enables Pfizer's business results by making security an enabler and not a roadblock to achieving business results.

The Digital Command Operations (DCO) team delivers excellence in the pursuit of those breakthroughs through industry-leading infrastructure operations reliability. This is achieved through transparency in business and service health, predictive detection of service interruptions, the elimination of repetitive operational tasks (toil) through automation, and improved diagnostics to drive better decisions and interventions.

The ​Sr. Associate, Network Automation Engineer​ will work collaboratively with other members of the Network Infrastructure, peer organizations and the broader Pfizer Digital Organization, to provide technical expertise in building Pfizer’s network automation capabilities and identifying & successfully implementing advanced IT automation solutions for Pfizer Digital and our clients.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify potential opportunities to automate Network Operational processes, including elimination of toil and risk.
  • Programmatically analyze network incidents and develop automated solutions for close loop remediation.
  • Utilize software engineering practices, and programming or scripting languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript, to develop code, automate tasks, and integrate monitoring and alerting in the process.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in network engineering, software engineering, and cloud computing.
  • Utilize logging and monitoring solutions like Grafana, Splunk or similar, to track, troubleshoot, and remediate issues.
  • Use and customize industry-leading Network Performance Monitoring, Planning, and Configuration Management capabilities.
  • Maintain design and support documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improving data collection, analysis processes, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Document analysis methodologies, findings, and insights to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain data quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or STEM related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in network engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in any of the following Cisco/Meraki/SDWAN, Catalyst, Nexus, AireOS.
  • Experience with Network Performance Monitoring, Planning, and Configuration Management tools.
  • Experience in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python).
  • Experience in programmatically analyzing network incidents and developing automated remediation solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with network automation tools and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an agile work environment possessing qualities such as a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate level Industry certifications (CCNA, DEVASC, CCSA, or equivalent expertise).
  • Familiarity with F5 Load Balancers.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Grafana, Tableau.
  • Familiarity with software engineering best practices, version control, testing, deployment in maintenance will be considered plus.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, preferably with Scrum methodology with a focus on continuous improvement and delivery.
  • Professional certifications in network engineering, automation, or cloud services (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
