The CEM Group is responsible for development and maintenance of controls hardware and low-level software, electronics design, production and radiation tolerance, mechatronics and robotics, test and measurement systems for the accelerators complex. The BI Group is responsible for designing, building and maintaining the instruments that allow observation of the particle beams and the measurement of related parameters for all CERN accelerators and transfer lines.

As an Electronics Engineer, you will work for the distribution and recovery of Beam Synchronous Timing for Beam Instrumentation in the CERN accelerator chain.

In particular you will:

  • Take part in the development of FPGA designs that distribute Beam Synchronous Timing;
  • Study and improve the accuracy and precision of FPGA designs that recover Beam Synchronous Timing;
  • Work with the White Rabbit technology and in particular RF over White Rabbit;
  • Develop test setups and conduct performance characterization;
  • Collaborate closely with firmware and software engineers;
