Lead Vehicle Systems Engineering

Geotab is seeking a Lead Vehicle Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership in designing, implementing, and testing cutting-edge software and hardware solutions for the automotive industry. This role involves overseeing engineering efforts related to the integration of vehicle data product streams, guiding best practices in vehicle communications, aiding in the vehicle data reverse engineering process, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between vehicle systems and Geotab's platform. The role also includes leading root cause analysis, defining overall architecture, taking ownership of technical projects, managing system validation and verification activities, and providing technical expertise and guidance on vehicle system-related matters.

• 10+ years of experience with various vehicle systems, sensors, and actuators
• Expertise in vehicle architecture, embedded systems, and CAN bus communication protocols
• Proficiency in vehicle diagnostics via OBD-II (J1979) and J1939, and strong understanding of vehicle communication standards
• Familiarity with automotive software architectures and communication systems (ISO 9141, ISO 14230, SAE J1850, J1708)
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and German
• Previous technical leadership or management experience
• Strong project management skills and the ability to think strategically
• Familiarity with SQL queries and Python scripts
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies
