Community Manager

The Ideal Candidate:

You’re a community-building and real-estate-obsessed investor who gets our community at its core and can’t wait to create content, engage with, and help our members directly on the BP platform become financially free by investing in real estate.

This role will travel to attend meetups across the United States, attend our annual BPCon to meet-and-greet our members face-to-face, spend multiple hours a week answering or posing questions in our forums on BiggerPockets and on PassivePockets, meet regularly with talent and members alike to gain feedback on products and services, support our overall audience development strategy for the community-at-large, fire off 50 Facebook group replies before your morning coffee, manage the moderation team and ensure rules are clear and enforced on- and off-platforms, handle nuanced and difficult moderation questions that toe the line of rule-breaking, determine who needs to be banned and who needs to be elevated as a voice on our site, and easily ideate viral and engaging TikToks or IG Reels because you spend a lot of your free time of social media already. We are looking for someone with current real estate experience in growing a small- to mid-size portfolio so that our users know you understand the unique challenges that accompany real estate investing.

The right candidate will have the ability to manage the community effectively, envision the big picture with stakeholders across the team, make bold and decisive decisions when it comes to creating content, and have a never-ending funnel of ideas and stories to share in the real estate world. The Job

1. Serve as the community ambassador and voice of our members through full immersion in our community engagement platforms on-site, off-site, and in-person. Get to know each of our moderators, our top contributors, and constantly spot new, positive people who can make a difference in our community.
2. Take your findings from meetups, the forums, and anywhere our members are talking to each other, and come back to the content team to share insights from the field that help inform new content opportunities, investing problems to solve, tools to create, companies to partner with and more.
3. Help guide and motivate the (paid and volunteer) moderators who make our forums a world-class conversation platform for real estate investors to keep them engaged, active, and immersed in our community daily.
4. Consistently performance manage the moderators output, track and improve moderator operations on our platform, and ensure our community is being supported by the moderation team daily.
5. Easily create or ideate engaging and authentic content for BP regularly, whether it’s creating the next viral TikTok, hosting an Instagram takeover, YouTube video, podcast guest or co-host appearance, posting 10+ times a day—thoughtuflly—in the forums, or writing a thoughtful blog article to strengthen our reputation as the #1 trusted source of real estate investing information.
6. Reporting to Audience Development Director and provide weekly status updates and ad hoc insights regarding the forums performance, the community demographics, moderation issues and questions, engagement opportunities, operating expenses, customer findings, social media content engagement, community engagement, and more to develop the audience in new and innovative ways.
7. You are willing and eager to document and share your own real estate investing journey with the BiggerPockets audience when needed.

Your Success Will Be Measured By:

• Number of power users and/or 1% users on the forums increase
• Engaged users on our Facebook Groups increase
• Engagement on the forums by first-time posters in the community improves
• Increased posts / replies on forums and Facebook Groups
• Marked increase in quality, engagement, and comments across content channels on content you create
• Trackably reducing spammers on social media, the forums, and FB groups
• Trackably reducing or strategizing correctly around self-promotion on the forums

Compensation

• $60,000 - $70,000 based on experience
• 10% yearly bonus based on company performance
