Community Manager

We’re looking for a freelance community manager to help us manage and grow the Waking Up Community. You’ll oversee the community’s growth, moderation strategy, and engagement tactics to create a thriving digital forum for members of the Waking Up app.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain Waking Up Community members.
• Communicate directly with the community to share updates, respond to feedback, and help members navigate the community platform.
• Manage the moderation team and update policies as needed to ensure a positive and safe community experience for all members.
• Support the development of local member groups and meetups.
• Structure the digital space to facilitate easy navigation and communication among members.
• Collect and analyze feedback from the community and provide actionable insights to the product and content teams.
• Develop content and engagement ideas for the community.
• Plan and produce community events, including forum Q&As and live video events.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in online community management or related fields.
• Familiarity with moderation policies and best practices for community management.
• Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently (we are a fully remote company).
• Passionate about meditation, self-development, and community.
• Familiarity with Waking Up specifically, and mindfulness and philosophy generally, is a plus.
