Lead Business Analyst

Overview:

This role is remote, and applicable only to candidates located in Poland.

This role is situated within Aiia, one of Mastercard's latest acquisitions. Aiia is a revolutionary Fintech platform dedicated to transforming the account-to-account payments ecosystem. As a Lead Business Analyst, you will have the unique opportunity to guide, and influence product roadmaps. You will work on different initiatives impacting one or multiple teams taking ownership for successful implementation as well as satisfying the intended business results.

Responsibilities:

Business Analysis: You will decompose business requirements and customer experiences into features and functions that drive the roadmap. You will create user stories and share them with engineering teams. You identify gaps and charters new platform capabilities as required. You keep up to date with the trends in our domain and understand the future impact on our products, so you contribute to the platform product portfolio and roadmap. You gain expertise within the platform feature area and coordinate with interdependent teams.

Quarterly Planning: Review initiatives, coordinate with all stakeholders, break them into features, align with Technical Leads and Architects and gather estimates. Based on the deep understanding of our domain, business needs, market opportunities, technology trends and our products vision, you assess, review and provide input regarding priorities of specific initiatives to different stakeholders.

Cross-Team Communication: Active participant in the BA guild sessions making sure that processes are aligned across the teams, patterns are identified for cross-teams initiatives and improvements are implemented when needed. Also collect and identify feature-level development opportunities based on the feedback from other participants.

Backlog Management: Manage the team backlog and closely collaborate with Product Owner and Technical Product Owner on priorities. You need to compare features for competitive review to inform prioritization and to continuously monitor feature development based on the quarterly commitments. You identify issues and risks that will keep the features from delivering on time and/or with the desired requirements and communicate to leadership.

Communication and Transparency: Ensure effective communication and transparency within the team and with stakeholders.

Collaboration: Collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the organization to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business context. Foster relationships to gather insights into business requirements, technical solutions and challenges to deliver optimal outcomes.

Requirements:

Solid Foundation: Proficient at grooming user stories, setting entrance/exit criteria and prioritizing a platform product backlog. Also understands and can explain the business context and the associated customer use cases

Domain-oriented - Demonstrates thorough understanding of our domain, its trends, how it impacts our business, and any associated risks; provides advice/point of view.

A little technical – Take the time to fully learn the functionality, architecture, dependencies, and runtime properties of the systems supporting your platform products.

Flexible - We are still “a startup” in some aspects - not all processes are perfectly defined. It should not be seen as an obstacle.

Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, influencing, facilitation and leadership skills.
