The role

You’ll be joining the Human Resources team as Associate HR Business Partner. Reporting to an HR Business Partner, you’ll be a part of a fast-growing business that is challenging the market and doing things differently.

This role will be a critical part of a successful, busy HR team, supporting key client groups with the full range of employee lifecycle activities.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and to integrate quickly into a delivery focused HR team, have experience of interacting at all levels within an organization and be motivated and enthusiastic in their approach. They will be pragmatic, results-orientated and be happy delivering against challenging work priorities.

The interview process will be:

1. Call with a member of the Talent Acquisition team to discuss your experience, salary expectations and learn more about the role and ClearBank

2. Interview with the HRBPs to discuss the role in more detail and ask questions on stakeholder management, commerciality, data driven decision making and working in ambiguity. Also an opportunity to for you to ask lots of questions about the role and the team

3. Interview with Head of HR and an HRBP to work through an example ER case, discuss your approach and deep dive your ER experience and understand your experience in project managing strategic HR topics. And of course, get to know you and answer questions you have

4. Final interview with CHRO around our values as a business

What you’ll do:

Employee Lifecycle

  • Partner with key stakeholders across your assigned business unit to understand future needs; and in collaboration with the HR Business Partner develop & implement people plans to support the required business and cultural change.
  • Proactively support the delivery of people priorities for business units e.g. learning & development, talent, ER, performance management, promotional opportunities, salary reviews and other compensation activities.
  • Support the HR Business Partner with training and development planning; including involvement in the selection and management of providers; in house delivery of training; and delivery of training within budget.
  • Partner with managers on probationary periods; managing correspondence for any probation extensions and/or probation failures and ensuring the HR Business Partners are aware of progress.
  • Manage and own maternity and paternity cases; seeking support as required.
  • Support HR Business Partner with succession planning and talent mapping conversations to fulfil future business talent requirements.
  • Help to shape a high-performance culture that underpins the attraction, retention, development and engagement of talent, utilising Peakon engagement data.
  • Support with end-to-end people talent initiatives, including restructuring programmes as required.
  • Develop and coach line managers to maximise the performance of key deliverables from their teams in relation to all aspects of people management.
  • Advise on, and champion, effective performance management including career frameworks, effective feedback, coaching, the identification of competency gaps and the provision of training or other initiatives to address gaps, performance differentiation and treatment in line with our values.
  • Conduct exit interviews with all leavers, sharing feedback and insights with HR Business Partner.
  • Support the HRBPs and Head of HR with audits, people risk management and governance requirements.
  • Support on other HR projects and initiatives as required/appropriate.

Employee Relations (25% of your time)

  • Maintain up to date with good practice and contemporary employer approaches.
  • Coach and support line managers through absence management cases, including occupational health referrals, phased return to work etc.
  • Ensuring managers understand relevant policies and procedures and supporting as required.
  • Support with employee disputes including grievances and disciplinaries.
  • Support with employee exits including redundancies and underperformance.
  • Provide wellbeing expertise and guidance to line managers.
  • Support with policy reviews & maintenance of ClearBank Employee Handbook.

Requirements

  • An experienced HR Generalist with a strong background in ER looking to further develop their business partnering skills.
  • A self-starter, able to use initiative and have a positive and creative mindset with a passion to innovate.
  • A strong relationship builder with the ability to communicate, influence and coach with confidence in an engaging and effective manner.
  • Pragmatic and flexible thinker, with the ability to take a risk- based approach to develop win-win solutions.
  • Data driven and analytical.
  • Demonstrates sound business and commercial acumen.
  • A team player with the desire to share and develop knowledge and skills for the overall success of the team.
  • An interest in Learning & Development would be desirable.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
