NCR Atleos has an open Senior SOX Compliance Analyst position that will be based out of the Belgrade, Serbia. This team member will participate in all aspects of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) program including annual planning, risk assessments, documentation maintenance, certifications, testing, and issues follow-up. The role will work with functional owners to review processes, collect information, test evidence, assess controls, and monitor deficiency remediation efforts. This position will report will into the global SOX Compliance Manager located in Atlanta, GA and will support Accounting & Finance Management, Internal Audit, and External Audit across all business functions. The position offers the opportunity to learn the business, develop leadership skills, and network with a variety of functions within NCR Atleos.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Routinely work with business owners to validate SOX controls are operating routinely and evidenced appropriately.
  • Organize meetings and perform functional process reviews and walkthroughs with business owners to confirm and/or update process and control documentation.
  • Collect evidence to test the adequacy of the control design and select samples to assess the control effectiveness for key items that support financial reporting.
  • Identify process or control deficiencies, work with the owner to develop solutions, and monitor remediation efforts through routine follow-up.
  • Help coordinate any external audit requests and issues with the correct internal resources.
  • Facilitate necessary SOX process and controls certifications to support 302 / 404 requirements.
  • Effectively utilize and administer requests via the AuditBoard platform for Accounting and Business Process control and certification tasks.
  • Coordinate related activities and requests with SOX IT Resources.
  • Assist with IT System Access review and Segregation of Duties analysis.
  • Assist in the annual SOX risk assessment and scoping process to help identify significant locations, business units, processes, IT systems and accounts in scope.
  • Identify, evaluate and communicate any changes to processes, people, technology or accounting requirements that may impact processes or controls.
  • Work with global cross-function teams including accounting, shared services, tax, treasury, internal audit, information technology to provide ongoing SOX support.
  • Educate and provide to stakeholders on the importance of SOX and Audit requests.
  • Suggest process improvements for control design and audit procedures.
  • Support escalating and reporting high risk and overdue items to Senior Management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Related professional certifications preferred.
  • 3 + years relevant experience in related field (internal audit, corporate accounting, public accounting, etc.)
  • Understanding of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, IT general control concepts.
  • Requires a fundamental understanding of accounting and audit principles.
  • Well organized, detail-oriented team player with proven ability to multitask effectively and work independently.
  • Communication skills and confidence to present concerns, and updates to their manager and customer in a timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively across various levels of management.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel.
  • Experience with MS Visio, PowerPoint and AuditBoard is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of ERP and other IT business systems.
