Position summary

T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Senior Architects, Solutions located in Frisco, TX will design, implement, and support holistic solutions for all RIS systems across the organization.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the technical vision and Architectural Runway on cloud platform technologies utilizing (but not limited to) the full Azure services stack, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Power Platform (PowerApps/PowerBI), Snowflake, and AWS.
  • Design, craft, and develop system interfaces/utilities, databases, reporting, or business intelligence systems to deliver new utilities supporting corporate business objectives.
  • Build and maintain the Architectural Runway, expertise, and standards, defining scope and requirements, isolating key issues, analyzing possible solutions, building consensus, and communicating a recommendation.
  • Foster new technology, strive for unexpected ideas, and push new boundaries in a quest for continued innovation.
  • Build and maintain architecture standards and best practices and create scalable, extensible designs that are easy to implement and perform and follows architectural standards.
  • Provide architectural assessments and work-effort estimates and keep abreast of Cloud trends and standards, big data technologies, master data management, self-service business intelligence, metadata management, data quality, data services, and data governance.
  • Design, develop, and implement cloud-based tools to deliver new system functionality supporting corporate business objectives.
  • Explore documents and implement new PaaS feature releases to increase delivery by RIS product teams and improve the overall architectural runway.
  • Maintain and develop CICD pipelines to ensure continuous integration and deployment using Agile methodologies.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into documented technical specifications or User Stories.
  • Communicate the design, requirements, functionality, and limitations of systems and applications and identify, craft, and update support documentation as needed by the DevOps function.
  • Drive, supervise, and take part in Peer Review to allow acceptance of system changes into production.
  • Facilitate and lead reviews (walkthroughs) or grooming sessions and demos of technical specifications and program code with other members of the technical team, communicating design, requirements, feature set, functionality, and limitations of systems/applications to team and development lead.
  • Provide on-call and after-hours support as required and respond and provide active resolution support on production outages.
  • Supply and work to meet project schedules.
  • Collaborate with architects, business partners, and other Software Engineers on design, product enhancements, and support.
  • Responsible for performing workshops and on-boarding sessions for technical teams for new features and product improvements.
  • Maintain technical skills and expertise through continuing education and training.
  • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Skill requirements:

  • Designing, configuring, and building services/features using full Stack Azure Services, Azure Synapse, Azure DevOps, PowerShell, C#, and Databricks (PySpark).
  • Designing and building complex ETL, streaming, and CICD pipelines using Azure Services, Apache Spark, Kubernetes/PCF, Azure SQL, Java, Python, and Kafka Streams.
  • Designing and building data pipelines between multiple cloud environments utilizing Apache Storm, C#, AWS, Snowflake, Java API, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
  • Designing and building utilities and modules utilizing Java API, SQL, Jenkins CICD, Apache Hadoop, C#, and PowerShell.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives. And since we are ALL owners, EVERY employee at T-Mobile is eligible for an Annual Stock Grant.
