Senior Compliance Manager

At Zalando, we're seeking a Senior Compliance Manager to join our Corporate Compliance team. The team maintains the group-wide Compliance Management System, including our third-party compliance setup. Amongst others, they take care of ensuring that our operations as well as the third-party-facing processes comply with legal requirements such as the German Supply Chain Act. In supporting that team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our third-party risk assessment and management strategies. You'll leverage your expertise to translate legal requirements from relevant regulations, such as the German Supply Chain Act and (upcoming) European Legislation, into actionable risk assessment frameworks tailored to our needs.

This is a parental leave cover position with a limited contract for 12 months.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Develop and improve our third-party risk assessment and management framework in alignment with legal requirements and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance existing risk mitigating measures and management plans.
• Utilise data-driven insights to optimise the effectiveness of risk management strategies.
• Prepare legally mandated reporting under the German Supply Chain Act and European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Serve as the internal and external point of contact for ethical and legal compliance standards, guiding contract negotiations and reviewing regulatory updates.
• Proactively address potential misconduct within our business partner network.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• At least 5 years of professional experience in Compliance and/or due diligence within a fast-paced, innovative environment.
• Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks related to ethical business practices.
• Data-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
• Academic degree in relevant fields, usually either a Masters or State Examination degree in Law or Economics.
• Strong organisational skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. As the position requires communication with / reporting to German authorities, you should be fluent in German.
