About the Role

As a senior software engineer in the [BrightWrite](http:// https://covergenius.com/brightwrite/)/Data team, you will be working on the pricing optimisation API, a key driver in our mission to increase the GWP yield. You'll be diving into Django, FastAPI, and offline PyPI packages, making critical contributions that helps us to make it fast and reliable.

Beyond that, your day will look like:

• Lead the development and maintenance of internal applications, with a focus on the APIs for pricing optimisation and customer chatbot automations.

• Collaborate with the team to design, develop, and deploy scalable and robust APIs using Django and FastAPI with Rest and GraphQL

• Ensure code quality, performance, and reliability through comprehensive testing and code reviews. Improves the process with the CI/CD toolings

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues. Writing and maintaining technical documentation, including tutorials, guides, and blameless post-mortems

Technical requirements for the role:

• Minimum 5 years of full-time Python backend development experience using Python web frameworks (Must have Django). Proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions.

• Experiences with publishing non web based Python projects and/or Pypi packages

• Proficiency with Python testing

• Good understanding of REST API development

• Basic practical experience working with frontend e.g. Javascript, HTML, CSS

• Previous experience maintaining Python applications that manage large workloads in production environments using Kubernetes and Helm or similar technologies

• Experience using observability tools e.g. Grafana, NewRelic and Prometheus

• Understanding of modern DevOps practices such as Docker, CI/CD and Kubernetes

• Nice to have

• Hands on experiences using FastAPI and GraphQL

• Hands on DevOps experience

• Functional knowledge of any of the following technologies:

• RabbitMQ / Celery (or alternatives)

• GitLab CI

• ArgoCD

• Experience with GCP / Edge computing platform is a plus
