The school is currently seeking a Lecturer in the area of Early Childhood Education to contribute to teaching and learning practice, design and evaluation within the School. This role is a 70% (teaching) 20% (research) 10% (governance, leadership and engagement) position.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Participate in enriching teaching and learning endeavours at undergraduate, Honors, and postgraduate levels that align with the University's educational standards and expectations.
  • Assesses teaching and learning, both within the program and regarding personal practice, utilizing acquired knowledge to enhance practice and achieve better outcomes.
  • Develops and suggests innovative practices in teaching and learning with a view to improving educational outcomes
  • Undertakes original research (either independently or as part of a team) within discipline or area of expertise
  • Supporting the Early Childhood Professional Experience Placements in the Bachelor of Education and Masters of Teaching Programs.

About you

  • A PhD (completed or submitted for examination) relevant in a relevant area of or to early childhood education
  • Demonstration of quality tertiary teaching experience in the field of early childhood teacher education, including Professional Experience units
  • Teaching experience and qualifications with children in birth to five years early childhood education
  • Experience in developing and delivering in-service teacher education
  • Experience with professional experience placements across a range of settings
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, and the ability and willingness to contribute to professional and community collaborations and academic administration.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
