The Role
Help product leaders and the Chief Product Officer investigate and assess the next set of products to launch across the ZenBusiness platform over the next three years (across our verticals of formations, compliance, fintech and marketing tools)
This is a unique opportunity to get direct exposure to product development at a growth stage tech startup and directly impact the future direction of the company. The path forward for this role can evolve into product management, partnerships or operational roles at the company.
This is a remote position that reports to VP, Product Operations, and will work very closely with the Chief Product Officer, Product leaders and Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Support the product leadership to assess the next set of products and features to launch, by
- Scanning the market for providers, market dynamics
- Deeply understanding our customer research and customers’ current behavior on the platform
- Competitor analysis
- ZenBusiness’s priorities and product vision
- Assess the relevance and viability of each of the next products that ZB is looking to launch
- Create high level product briefs and build mini-business cases for the proposed products. In doing so
- Propose the price point(s) and pricing structure for the product and an early estimate of cogs and margin
- Propose the nature of the product (freemium, first month free, metered, etc)
- Identify the must-have data agreements with partners where relevant
- Define the servicing and fulfillment requirements for the product
- Provide GTM recommendations: how the product would be sold (through the sales team, in-product sales etc)
- "Recommend whether the product should be built internally or fulfilled by a partner"
- "Identify ideal brand positioning — ZB branded, co-branded, or partner-branded"
- Based on competitor and market research, recommend “must-haves” for the MVP launch.
- Create high level product briefs and build mini-business cases for the proposed products. In doing so
Qualifications
- 4-6+ years in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, equity research or 2-4 years post MBA in these roles
- High comfort in reaching out and interacting with external partners
- Strong presentation skills (creation and delivery) to senior stakeholders in the company and at partner companies
- Well versed in creation of business cases, and pitching them to executives.
- Ability to handle multiple projects (exploration of products) at the same time
- Excited and able to come up to speed very quickly on products in the small business compliance, fintech and martech spaces.
Bonus Qualifications
- Start up experience
- Familiarity with Mixpanel and Tableau
- Experience in one or more of small business compliance, fintech or martech
- macOS and G-Workspace knowledge
