JOB PURPOSE:
The primary responsibilities of the People Operations Specialist include completing daily operational tasks of the People function related to onboarding and offboarding, compliance, employee relations, performance management, training and development and HRIS administration. In partnership with the rest of the People team, the role will ensure employees are supported to thrive at work and People policies are implemented consistently and accurately.
While this role is considered a ‘generalist’ role on the People team and will wear many hats, it will also own the processing and continuous improvement of our multi-state payroll. Additionally, the People Operations Specialist will own the design, implementation and management of various programs that enhance employee development and support internal mobility and succession planning.
The People Operations Specialist will formulate strong partnerships across the organization to deliver value-added service to our employees to positively influence organizational performance and results by supporting growth and development of our employees. This position will report to the Director of People and Culture.
**Please note, successful candidate must have vast experience and understanding of California state employment laws and compliance, either by currently living and working in the HR Field in California for a minimum of 2 years or extensive knowledge gained in a prior HR role in California.**

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Special Projects and People Team Support:
Complete various assignments and projects for the People team, as needed.
Work in partnership with the People Operations Partner and serve as backup for employee relations and other HR matters (i.e. bi-weekly payroll, investigations, corrective action, HRIS system support).
Research external partners and trends to bring relevant and valuable content to the organization.
Establish and track People metrics for programs to measure effectiveness, regularly report on progress and identify areas of improvement.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
In partnership with the People Operations Partner, support the day-to-day administration of our performance management and review process(es).
Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Performs other duties as assigned.
