An Infrastructure Engineer is acting as a focal point of contact for infrastructure escalations and queries, they will be responsible for helping manage the upkeep, delivery, availability and futures within the Infrastructure Team.

This role focuses on cloud technology as well as managing the regional capability. They will help deliver the company’s strategy and goals.

Part of this role is to pull together teams and tech from various countries into one vision. Security is a big part of the department so they are entrusted to utilise tools, technology and common sense into the role to push the company forward into new business/customers whilst maintaining integrity.

Requirements

Key Accountabilities and Duties:

  • Deliver Infrastructure management for all company’s services ensuring confidentiality, integrity, availability and performance of systems.
  • Work with the Head of Corporate Infrastructure to deliver a timeline of solutions, upgrades and capability - taking a lead from the Infrastructure Tech Lead
  • Responsible for managing a cloud based network across multiple locations
  • Consult and implement Infrastructure components of the Security Strategy.
  • Help define risks where appropriate
  • Help manage controls and procedures.
  • Support compliance to internal and external regulatory obligations (broadly ISO27001 & WLA SCS).
  • Represent the company to customers technically and build relationships with various key contacts.
  • Technically drive Infrastructure technology forward with the Head of Corporate Infrastructure. Our teams are based in London, Ireland, Greece and North America. Some travel will be required to maintain this role.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in the business and with industry peers/external organisations, working with outside consultants as appropriate.
  • Implement measurement procedures (KPI, metrics) to assess and track exposure, risks and effectiveness of Infrastructure services.
  • Working with the Service Desk and Junior Infrastructure Engineer, to help build up capability, knowledge and skills to better drive the company forward.
  • Support the business in an adhoc out of hour capacity - On call technical escalation will be part of this role

Minimum Qualifications

  • University level degree (at postgraduate level is a plus) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field of study
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent command of English language

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum 5 years IT operational experience
  • Minimum 2 years Cloud / Server / Networking / OS / Workplace technology delivery and support
  • Solid experience in deploying and supporting a complex Palo Alto network. Palo Certifications advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of cloud providers such as AWS and Google. Certifications advantageous to AWS.
  • Infrastructure as code - CI/CD experience ideally Terraform
  • Strong experience in managing Windows and Linux environments. Windows 2016+ and CentOS, components such as Active Directory and PKI
  • Demonstrable experience of understanding service / change management
  • Minimum 2 years understanding and demonstrable experience in Security Practices / Processes.
  • High level of documentation experience
