As part of the IT Infrastructure team, the Network Engineer will be responsible for the installation, operation and support of LAN, WAN and Wireless network environments across a hybrid environment. This role will be involved in supporting projects requiring network design/architecture, as well as operational work supporting upgrades, deployments and incident management.
Role Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain LAN and WAN networks across a hybrid environment (Colo, Cloud, Office locations)
- Administer network security solutions - including Firewalls, IDS/IDP and VPN platforms
- Monitor network availability & performance, proactively troubleshooting problems and addressing incidents or performance issues.
- Develop network & systems architecture designs, schedules, and costs for upgrades and new initiatives
- Develop and test improvements to network processes and procedures
- Create, update and maintain detailed documentation of network design, configurations, and procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate new software and hardware into the network.
- On-call support rotation to provide 24/7 break/fix coverage will be required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer (hands-on/technical)
- Strong understanding of data center network provisioning, administration and core LAN/WAN network design
- In-depth knowledge of routing and network security in a hybrid environment, including data center/colo, and public cloud
- Experience designing networks for Global Corporate IT, including office design and support for global AV/Telecom networks
- Palo Alto Firewall Administration/configuration (required)
- Global Protect VPN Administration experience
- Experience with Cisco and HP LAN switch administration (preferred)
- Experience with Aruba Wireless Network administration (preferred)
- Experience with Server (Windows/Linux) and Hypervisor Environments (VMWare)
- Experience working with public cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure and GCP
- Experience with Storage and backup technologies (replication, archiving, etc....)
- Knowledge of ITIL and change management processes
- Experience working in regulated/audited environments (preferred)
- Industry Certifications from Palo Alto or Cisco (preferred)
