We’re responsible for Commonwealth Banks key analytics capabilities and work to create world-leading capabilities for analytics, information management and decisioning. We work across the Cloudera Hadoop Big Data, Teradata Group Data Warehouse and Ab Initio platforms.

We are seeking people who:

• Provide technical assistance to other members of the team.
• Participate actively in peer reviews.
• Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement within the team and in delivery of products.
• Produce high quality, sustainable solutions to meet business requirements, leveraging approved delivery frameworks and by applying industry best practice.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that solutions are robust, secure and highly available.
• Complete data engineering duties aligned to core concepts of data design, preparation, transformation, and load.
• Build data pipelines in distributed data platforms including warehouses, databases, data lakes and cloud lake houses to enable data predictions and models, and reporting and visualization analysis via data integration tools and frameworks.

Technical skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.

• Experience in designing, building, and delivering enterprise-wide data ingestion, data integration and data pipeline solutions using common programming language (Scala, Java or Python) in a Big Data and Data Warehouse platform.
• Experience in building data solution in Hadoop platform, using Spark, MapReduce, Kafka and various ETL frameworks for distributed data storage and processing.
• Strong Unix / Linux Shell scripting and programming skills in Java, Scala or Python.
• Experience in working in Agile teams, including working closely with internal business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and data mart build experience in Teradata, Oracle or RDBMS system is a plus.
• Certification on Cloudera CDP, Hadoop, Spark, Teradata is a plus.
• AWS Cloud experience
