Role Overview:

Ready to dive into the world of data and be at the forefront of technological advancements in capital markets? As a Java Developer at LSEG, you'll play a crucial role in building and maintaining Java-based applications running on AWS, focusing on creating a seamless data experience for Capital Markets.

Main Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design, development and maintenance of new products & features
• Ensure development best practices are followed, and help to improve them
• Contributing towards resolving bugs and production outages
• Writes clean, efficient code based on specifications to develop complete solutions occasionally utilizing multiple languages or technologies, with some guidance and oversight
• Builds strong relationships with their team and colleagues, collaborating closely with team
• Communicates clearly and in a timely manner, keeping clear lines of communication open to ensure full understanding of information and tasks and asking questions where needed
• Takes interest to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects.
• Handles own workload and promotes an open and inclusive culture

Tools we use and what to expect:

• Java, Spring, Gradle: Craft resilient and scalable Java applications, using frameworks such as Spring.
• Kafka & Kafka Connect: Drive innovation with Kafka and Kafka Connect for smooth data streaming processes.
• AWS : Apply expertise in AWS services, including MSK, S3, EC2, and Lambda, contributing to a robust infrastructure.
• Bash Scripting: Automate tasks for enhanced efficiency.
• Continuous Integration: Contribute to our agile environment with Jenkins for CI/CD.
• Database Proficiency: Manage data efficiently with SQL, ensuring the reliability and integrity of the streaming application.

Qualifications:

• Proven entry level Java development experience.
• Familiarity with Kafka, Kafka Connect, and/or AWS services.
• Familiarity in Git, Bash scripting, and continuous integration with Jenkins.
• Familiarity with SQL skills for database querying.
