Title: Senior Director, Business Development

Location: San Juan, PR (35% teleworking permitted from anywhere in the U.S.)

Employer: AES Puerto Rico, LP

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate new & existing projects or business opportunities aligned with AES growth strategy. Accountable for all aspects of the projects including finance, commercial, engineering, legal, among others. Manage complex energy projects, involving multiple stakeholders, resources, and risks. Manage project financial model, including all inputs and assumptions. Land negotiation, permit submission & obtention, negotiation of construction & operating contracts, resource assessment analysis, project schedule and milestone reaching of projects from greenfield origination to commencement of construction. Lead due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions with internal teams and consultants including critical issue screening, environmental studies, surveys, diligence reports, title review, property tax matters, community relations, etc. Lead negotiation for sell-downs and acquisitions of development pipelines. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, competitors, and partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Job requires Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology and Management, or related field and 3 years of experience in any job title involving utility scale renewable energy project development in solar, BESS, and wind.

The position requires three (3) years of experience in:

-Utility Scale Renewable Energy Project Management Plan;

-Technical, legal and real estate due diligence in utility scale renewable energy projects;

-Financial modeling for utility scale renewable energy projects;

-Development of commercial strategies for utility scale solar, BESS, wind energy projects;

-Experience in land acquisition, permitting and interconnection negotiation;

-Utility Scale solar, BESS, Wind Energy Utility Project Evaluation;

-Energy Project Resource Assessment for solar, BESS, Wind Energy Utility Project;

-Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contractual negotiation for utility scale projects;

-Operation and maintenance Contractual negotiation for utility scale projects.
